For colored pencil art I find a few different types of paper that works well for colored pencils.
1) Legion Stonehenge White paper pad
2) Strathmore mixed media heavyweight paper pad
3) Hot pressed watercolor paper
For pen and ink : Strathmore 300 series smooth paper
Colored pencils I use are Prismacolor premier, Lyra Rembrant-polycolor, Faber Castell polychromos,
and Pablo Carand'ache.
